“Perfumes,” when this word comes in our mind, we feel refreshed. Perfumes were made thousands of years ago, and it created a great impact on humans. There are many royal and lavish perfumes present, and their excellent fragrance can evoke beautiful memories of the past. Undoubtedly perfumes are related to our feelings. In all our special moments, these perfumes add sparks, keep us refreshed. Some scents can even change your mood, as well. There are very rare places where some very unique and rare perfumes are saved as an archive.

The Osmotheque of Versailles

The Osmotheque of Versailles is a special place in France to keep such memories alive related to perfumes. This place captures the fragrance memories in small bottles. This place is working hard to keep centaury’s old perfumes alive.

This place is called as “Archive of perfumes,” or we can say a world of perfumes. This place is called an archive because it has old fragrances as well as recently launched perfumes too. Imagine a world where you can smell the royal perfumes and feel special. Many questions hit our brains about this awesome perfumery. This place is known for keeping perfumes of the 18th century, which is a record.

Perfumery with the great collection

Osmotheque of Versailles is the only archive of perfumery which has a collection of approximately 4000 unique scents. Some of them are even from the 18th century. To maintain its uniqueness, this archive stays in touch with many perfume companies across the globe. They have a passion to keep the perfumes of all variants.

This archive asks many companies to entrust with them as soon as they launch a new perfume in the market. Once the perfume is kept in the Osmotheque, it becomes history, and this history of perfumery will continue together.  Patrica De Nicolai adds these beautiful lines.

The Secret behind keeping perfumes in the archive

The Osmotheque keeps all the original perfume formula of many perfumes.  These formula’s consist list of 20, 30 or 50 chemical ingredients. A specific dose of these ingredients creates a particular scent. This is a very general statement about the fragrances, but in actual companies never release the exact formula of their perfumes. They keep it confidential to avoid any kiosk.

One famous perfume evaluator, “Segolene Rolland,” says keeping these perfumes in the archive is a heritage, and it shouldn’t disappear. Perfumes will get spoiled and deteriorate one day; the only formula will remain in our hands for creating the new perfume.

How they keep perfumes safe?

The Osmotheque stores the perfumes under the special conditions to keep the original perfumes safe. They maintain a particular temperature by keeping them under special lights.  This process is very much similar to keeping artworks in the museum.

Conclusion

The Osmotheque is doing a great job by keeping these heritage perfumes. If you want to visit France, then follow this place on top of your list. Visit this historical world library of scents and experience the breeze of unique scents.
